After an eight-year hiatus, RPL’s #GetCarded campaign in celebration of Library Card Sign Up Month is returning to social media this September!
September is better known in the library world as Library Card Sign Up Month, a month-long initiative to encourage individuals to sign up for their library card and enjoy the many services and resources provided by their local library. It is a project that showcases the library’s offerings beyond just books – from the Library of Things to genealogy resources and passport services.
We invite you to visit our LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram profiles during the month of September to see why local celebrities love Reading Public Library! In each post, we will also explore the many programs and services included with your free RPL card, including:
- Access to our physical collection
- Access to digital collections like Libby and Hoopla, including audiobooks and e-books
- Free online databases and research tools
- Local attraction passes
- Library of Things
- …and much more!
A Reading Public Library card is available at no cost to anyone who lives in Pennsylvania and will give you access to RPL’s physical collection. If you live in Berks County, you will also receive access to our digital Libby collection. Additionally, any RPL cardholder who lives, works, or goes to school in the city of Reading will additionally have access to our Hoopla collection. You will need valid Photo Identification indicating you live in Berks County or in Reading if you are applying for a Reading Public Library Card. Learn more about how to get your library card.
