Reading Public Library’s Celebrity Bartender Event Sets Fundraising Record

Reading, Pennsylvania – The Reading Public Library raised over $30,000 at its twelfth annual Celebrity Bartender fundraiser, held May 20 at Saucony Creek Franklin Station Brewpub — the most successful event in the fundraiser’s history.

Celebrity Bartenders Izzy Gonzalez, Peter Rye, Kaitlin Daley, and Sabrena Elmarzouky got behind the bar to serve drinks and entertain, with proceeds supporting programs across all four library branches. The total proceeds doubled the event’s original fundraising goal and will benefit children, teens, and adults through free access to music, art, and educational programming.

“To not only reach our goal, but exceed it by such a significant margin, is incredibly meaningful,” said Carolyn Spano, Director of Development. “This overwhelming support reflects just how deeply our community believes in the library and the opportunities it creates for neighbors of all ages.”
