Join us to write your very own short story from start to finish. We’ll cover creating characters, setting, story structure and different elements that go into strong, short story writing. Bring your own notebook and writing materials or laptop. No prior writing experience needed!
Session 1: The Short Story (Story Arc)
Session 2: Creating Characters
Session 3: Creating Setting
Session 4: Pacing, Readability, and Voice
Final product is a 10-20 page short story.
This program series will be lead by Kristina (Tina) Hartz is a Reading local, currently working as a writing tutor at Reading Area Community College (RACC). They received their associate’s degree in creative writing from RACC in 2022, followed by their bachelor’s in professional writing from Kutztown University in 2024. Tina is set to begin the MFA program at Wilkes University in January 2026 with a focus on fiction writing and poetry. Tina also leads the writer’s group at the LGBT Center on the first Friday of every month. When they aren’t busy writing, you can often find Tina enjoying the outdoors. They love camping, kayaking, and hiking.
