Audio through the Ages, part 2, will continue our journey through the history of audio technology and how people listened to music after vinyl was invented. We will make our own speaker using music supplies, and get hands experience with different type of audio technology from over the decades.

On October 7th Cartoonist Club can join Phuc Trans storytime so hear what it’s like to work on a book and be a tattoo artist, who are artists that draw on skin after all! Story time is at 3:30, instead of the normal 4pm for club.

Inspired by the graphic novel, The Cartoonist Club, by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud, this club is for creatives, writers, and artists to learn what goes into making a graphic novel, or comic, or zine. This program is for ages 9-17. All supplies will be provided!

Join us on October 9th for a building challenge inspired by the floating gardens, chinampas, that the Aztec civilization used around the area that is now Mexico City! All building materials will be provided, so just bring yourself! NOTE: We will be using hot glue, so please make sure to provide adult support and supervision for children under 9, as they will not be able to participate without an adult present.

Join all FOUR branches of the Reading Public Library for this special live tournament on the Nintendo Switch! Players should have prior Nintendo Switch experience and be between the ages of 10-16. Please arrive by 2:30 to register for the tournament! Players arriving after 3pm may not be able to participate due to limited spots. Please call your local branch of the Reading Public Library to learn more about this event.

Celebrate the season with our annual Halloween Bash! The Reading Philharmonic Orchestra will provide a free concert on the main floor while children and families can enjoy hands-on crafts, snacks and drinks, and family-friendly trick-or-treating in Youth Services. Costumes are highly encouraged, and prizes will be awarded to both children and tweens/teens for most creative, cutest, and spookiest.
