Progress Reports:

The reading nooks in the new Learning and Meeting Commons are now open to patrons. The enclosed meeting rooms will be ready soon. We are waiting for the doors to be delivered, as well as some electronics.

The glass walls are up. The furniture will be delivered at the beginning of January and the rooms will open to the public shortly afterwards, in January.

After the Learning & Meeting Commons is completed and open to the public, room reservations will be made in 3 ways: online (details to follow), calling our reference department, or selecting dates on iPads mounted outside the meeting rooms.

A mechanical closet installed at the rear wall of the glass meeting space will house the HVAC unit and serve as a mounting wall for technology and electrical needs.

ADAPPT, along with Reading City Public Works Department and Burkey Construction removed the central shelving units on the first floor of Main Library in preparation for installation of the Dr. Jerome I. Marcus Learning and Meeting Commons.
